Testimonials

The gentlemen that handled my mother, after her death, were the most kind, respectful and professional individuals I have ever met. They treated the most difficult time with complete grace and I cannot say enough about their expertise.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • What do I do when my loved one dies?

First, take a breath. You do not have to navigate this alone.

The steps you take will depend on where your loved one passes:

If the death occurs at home:

Call 911 so the proper authorities can respond and officially pronounce the death.

If the death occurs in a hospital, hospice, or care facility:

The medical staff will handle the immediate procedures and will ask which funeral home you have selected.

Once the death has been pronounced, contact our funeral home immediately. We are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, and we will guide you step-by-step through everything that happens next — calmly, clearly, and with compassion.

    When you call, we will:

    • Coordinate transportation of your loved one into our care
    • Explain what decisions need to be made (and which can wait)
    • Schedule a time to begin making arrangements
    • Answer every question you have — no matter how small

You do not need to have all the answers before you call. That is what we are here for.

If you are unsure what to do, simply call us. We will walk with you from the very first step.

  • How much does a funeral cost?

Funeral costs vary depending on the type of service you choose — traditional burial, cremation, memorial service, or a customized celebration of life.

We believe in complete transparency and will walk you through every option so you can make informed decisions without pressure.

We offer options to fit a variety of budgets and can discuss payment arrangements if needed.

Call us to receive a clear explanation of pricing and options.

  • Where does Mayberry Funeral Services provide support?

We proudly serve families throughout the entire Permian Basin, including Midland, Odessa, and surrounding communities. Whether the passing occurs at home, in a hospital, or at a care facility, our team is available 24/7 to bring your loved one into our care.

  • Do I have to decide everything right away?

No. Many decisions can be made thoughtfully over time.

When you call us, we will guide you step-by-step and help you prioritize what needs immediate attention and what can wait.

Our role is to make this process feel manageable — not overwhelming.

  • What if my loved one didn’t pre-plan?

That’s very common. Most families are making arrangements without written instructions.

We will help you create a service that reflects your loved one’s personality, values, and life story.

Through thoughtful questions and gentle guidance, we’ll help you design something meaningful and personal.

  • Can I have a viewing if I choose cremation?

Yes. We believe in providing families with the opportunity to say goodbye. You can opt for a public or private viewing with your loved one present in a rental casket or cremation-suitable casket prior to the cremation process.

  • Can I personalize the service?

Absolutely. We encourage families to celebrate their loved one’s unique life. From "Tribute Videos" and specific music selections to displaying personal mementos and hobbies, we are here to help you tell their story.

  • Why should I choose Mayberry Funeral Home?

Choosing a funeral home is deeply personal. Families choose us because we treat every family as our own — with dignity, professionalism, and genuine care.

We believe every life deserves to be honored uniquely and respectfully.

From your first phone call to long after the service, we are here to support you.

If you’re unsure where to begin, call us. We will walk beside you every step of the way.
