Robert Jerome Thomas

Robert Jerome Thomas, 58, of Midland, passed away January 6, 2024. Robert was born February 21, 1965 in Midland to Thurman J. Thomas and Carolyn Sue Martin. He graduated from Midland High School in 1984.

Robert enjoyed cooking, basketball, fishing, and being with family and friends. He especially loved his nieces and nephews and had a special bond with his Uncle James. His mother was his biggest fan and he was also always there for her when she needed him.

Robert is preceded in death by his father, Thurmon J. Thomas; older brother, Thurman Ray; maternal grandmother Adell Covington, paternal grandparents, Thurman and Annie Lea Thomas; and several aunts and uncles.

He is survived by his mother, Carolyn Haywood; sister, Vanessa Young; son, Brandon Griffen; five nieces, three nephews, and a host of uncles, aunts, friends, and cousins.

A viewing will be held in the Hope Chapel at Mayberry Funeral Home on Wednesday, January 10, 2024 from 4-6pm. A Celebration of Life service will be held at White's Chapel Church of God in Christ in Midland at 11:00 am on Thursday, January 11, 2024.
