Maurice Taylor Jr.

Maurice Taylor Jr. of Midland, Texas went to receive his heavenly reward on July 3, 2023. He was born on September 7,1948, in Los Angeles, California, to the late Maurice Taylor Sr. and Olivia Ball. Maurice was a beloved father, grandfather, and friend who will be deeply missed.

Maurice dedicated himself to his education, earning an Associate of Arts degree from Henderson County Junior College in Athens, Texas, on May 12, 1977. He further pursued his academic journey at Prairie View A&M University, where he received a Bachelor of Business Administration on December 19, 1988.

Throughout his career, Maurice worked as an accountant at Arco Oil and Midland County Housing Authority. He was a hard worker and dedicated provider.

Maurice had a deep and abiding faith in the Most High God and loved his children and grandchildren dearly. He had a great sense of humor and loved to laugh. He could always find the humor in any situation and loved spreading joy to those around him.

Maurice is survived by his sons, Eric Taylor and wife Kendria Taylor, Marcus Taylor and wife Pennie Taylor, and his son Damion Taylor. He will forever be cherished by his grandchildren, Erica Hollins, Kristal Morris, Alivia Taylor, Marcus Taylor Jr., eight great-grandchildren, and numerous other relatives and friends who held a special place in his heart.

A visitation for family and friends will be held Tuesday, July 11, 2023, from 1:00pm to 5:00pm at Mayberry Funeral Home- Hope Chapel located at 406 E Illinois Avenue, Midland, TX.

The funeral service to honor and celebrate Maurice's life will be held Wednesday, July 12, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. at Mayberry Funeral Home.

During this time of mourning, let us remember Maurice Taylor Jr. for his unwavering faith, his dedication to family, and his infectious laughter. His presence will be deeply missed, but his memory will forever live on in the hearts of those who had the privilege of knowing him.
