Julius Cordell Watson

May 21, 1961 — March 22, 2024

Julius "Jubaby" Cordell Watson Jr. went to be with the Lord on March 22, 2024, at the age of 62. Born on May 21, 1961, Julius was the son of Julius Watson Sr. of Midland, TX, Jodie Porter of Clarksville, TX, and Milton Porter of Pelham, TX.

Julius attended Lee High School in Midland, TX and immediately entered the workforce. Carpentry was more than just a hobby for Julius; it was his passion. With a remarkable skill set, he could mend anything except a broken heart, as he often joked. He was always good with his hands and had the unique talent of being able to "just figure things out". As a child he repaired small engines on go-carts and lawnmowers; enjoying the challenge of figuring out how to get them working again. His hands were always in motion.

Julius's expertise was honed under the mentorship of Reverend Osby and other pastors from Midland, who shared their knowledge generously. Throughout his career, Julius contributed his talents to Weatherford Oil Company for many years and Ceramkote, from which he retired four years ago.

Known for his warm and welcoming demeanor, Julius never met a stranger. He possessed a generous spirit, always willing to lend a helping hand to those in need. His charitable nature extended beyond words, as he often gave selflessly, embodying the true essence of kindness.

In addition to his love for carpentry, Julius adored his canine companions. After the loss of his faithful companion Boss, he found solace in the company of his puppy Trouble, cherishing their bond.

The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to Home Hospice of Big Spring, particularly Shena and Kimmy, for their compassionate care during Julius's final days. Special acknowledgment is also extended to Author Pertile, and Patsy and John Calvin Jones for his unwavering friendship and financial support throughout the years.

Julius is reunited in Heaven with his father, Julius Watson Sr. and step-father, Milton Porter, grandfather Joseph Watson, grandmother Rosa Lee Tisdale and grandfather George Tisdale as well as his Brother-in-Law Brother-in-Law, Danny Crosby.

Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 28 years, Autry Crosby Watson; Mother, Jodie Porter; three Brothers, Kenneth Watson, Milton Porter, and Robert Porter (Deja); two Sisters, Rosie Scott (Shawn), and Pamela Coleman (Ceromie); Brother-in-Law, Harry Crosby; Eighteen Nephews; Sixteen Nieces; as well as a host of Great Nephews/Nieces, Aunts, Uncles, and Cousins. Julius is also survived by two women who held a special place in his heart, Aunt Ada Heller and Dr. Lillian Porter.

Julius Cordell Watson leaves behind a legacy of craftsmanship, compassion, and camaraderie that will be cherished by all who knew him. He will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by his family, friends, and the community he touched with his kindness and skill. May he rest in peace, knowing that his legacy lives on in the hearts of those he leaves behind.
