John Richard, age 41, of Midland, Texas, passed away Tuesday, May 21, 2024 at his home in Midland, Texas.
John was born July 01, 1982 in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, a son of James Richard and Charlotte Florence Eaton. John was married to the love of his life, Maribel Lopez. John was raised Baptist and had been employed as an IT manager with over 20 years of leadership experience in the oil, gas, and energy sectors. John had a servant's heart and supported disaster recovery efforts from the Maui Wildfires and Windstorms in 2023, Hurricane Harvey in 2017, and 9/11 in 2001.
John proudly served his country as a US Marine. During his military career, John worked in the Intelligence Sector and had a knack for "figuring things out". John grew up being very involved in his stepfather's career of building houses on the beach. He then carried these skills into adulthood passing them along to his children. John took an interest in technology early on in life which led into his career and interest in gaming. He loved to play video games whether it be with his family or friends he met within the gaming community. He enjoyed hand building RC cars with his children even to the point that his husky loved chasing after the cars. In his spare time he played golf and basketball and those interests carried across to him playing them online with friends and watching many games. He had a love for basketball and his favorite player was Lebron James. One of his most loved interests was sailing. He spent some time sailing around Oahu with friends and his dream was to sail and be on the open water with his wife.
Left to cherish his memory is his wife Maribel Lopez of Midland, TX; five children, Isaiah Richard of Midland, TX, John Christopher Richard of Midland, TX, Jacob Richard of San Angelo, TX, Braden Richard of Midland, TX, and Andrea Richard of Midland, TX; his mother, Charlotte Florence Eaton of Stanton, TX; two brothers, Cory Richard and Sidney Dickerson; and his aunt, Mary Hall, uncle John Payne Jr, uncle Julian Payne, and aunt Jenny Payne.
John is now reunited with his father, James Clarence Richard, grandparents Betty Payne and John Payne and one brother, James Dickerson.
John's legacy of love, dedication, and family will live on in the hearts of all who had the pleasure of knowing him.
