On February 6, 2024 Imari J. Shaw entered eternal rest in the presence of his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Imari was born on April 3, 2001 to Kirby Shaw and Nancy Jordan in Midland, Texas. From beginning to end his life was a testament to diligent kindness, creativity, and unwavering faith.
At the age of 9, Imari relocated to live with his grandmother (MoMo Helen) in Arlington, Tx and attended Pearcy Elementary, Ousley Jr. High, and Seguin High School. His heart drew him back to his mother and so his journey led him back to Midland, where he proudly graduated from Viola D. Coleman High School in 2020.
Imari had a special place in his heart for his "MoMo" and Aunt Dee, who provided unconditional love, support and guidance throughout his life. Memories of Imari's tender kisses with his lips puckered high, earned him the title of the "best pucker in the world".
Early on Imari took interest in writing, particularly poetry and music. It was a reflection of his soul's depth and sensitivity. He was a student athlete and loved playing basketball and football. Throughout his life even as a youth he was a hard worker, always willing to help. At the time of his passing he was a dedicated employee of Flying J-Pilot.
Imari was actively raised in church and had a personal relationship with God. He read his Bible every night and always pointed people to prayer in times of uncertainty. His favorite person in the Bible was David and, in his words, "David was a G". Much like David, Imari was chosen because he had a heart for God.
He never spoke ill of anyone no matter the circumstances and you never saw him without a smile. Above all, his foundational relationship with Jesus Christ anchored him through life.
Imari is reunited in Heaven with his grandmother, Dorothy Jordan; great grandmother, Nancy Johnson; and uncle, Jay Shaw
Left cherish his memory is his Mother, Nancy Jordan; Father, Kirby Shaw; Step Father, Edward Johnson; Siblings, Averyon Shaw, Kristopher Jordan, Josiah Chambers, and Eric Johnson; Grandmother, Helen Ratliff; Great Grandmother, Johnnie Ellis; Aunts, Dereka Patterson (Jeffrey) and Beb Harrison; as well as a host of other family and friends.
