Garry Wayne Montgomery

Garry Wayne Montgomery, age 62, of Midland, Texas, passed away Friday, November 17, 2023 in Midland, Texas.

Garry was born March 06, 1961 in Houston, Texas to Elmer and Dorothy Bray Montgomery. Garry was a Strong & hard worker. He did't believe in "calling in" and never missed a day of work. He always kept a job and was a fast learner. As a cook, he was always determined to excel at his job. Garry was a simple man who loved life. He was loved by many and had a big heart! Garry was very family oriented. If he wasn't working, he was going to be in attendance at every family function.

Garry had a love for music and nice cars! He wasn't a man of many words, but his big, brown eyes, facial expressions, and gestures did a lot of talking. When he spoke, he had a way of making you laugh without even trying to and he spoke so fast that if you turned your head you might miss what he was saying. Garry had an unexpected sense of humor. He was also the only uncle brave enough to hand his keys over to Dezarae to let her drive! Garry looked serious most of the time, so when he cracked his jokes, they would catch you off guard in the best way. To know Garry Wayne Montgomery was to love him.

Garry is preceded by his Aunt Bertha Faye Conor.

Garry leaves behind to cherish his memory, his mother, Dorothy Montgomery; brothers, Charles Robinson, Lewis Montgomery (Elaine), and Benny Montgomery; sisters, Gloria Montgomery, Elaine Stevenson, and Patricia Long (Elgin). He also leaves behind generations of nieces and nephews. He was blessed enough to see five generations of family.

Visitation will be held November 30, 2023 from 2-8pm at Mayberry Funeral Home. A Celebration of Garry's life will be held at Friday, December 1, 2023 at 10am at Mayberry Funeral Home Hope Chapel with interment immediately following Serenity Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Midland, TX.
