Earnest Joe Clemons Jr. born on November 23, 1957, in Midland, Texas, to the parents Gloria Sturgeon and Earnest Joe Clemons Sr.
Joe's faith journey began at a young age when he accepted Christ and was baptized at Greater Ideal Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. Isaac M. Woodard, where he served as a committed and dedicated member of the choir and annually attended the Baptist Congress /Convention to expand his Christian Education. He thoroughly enjoyed returning to give a report to the church about all he had learned. Joe was ordained as a minister of the gospel of Jesus Christ. He later united with Ebenezer Missionary Baptist Church under Pastor Curtis D. Joiner.
He graduated from Midland High School in 1975. Joe was quite the trombone player which led to him receiving a band scholarship to Angelo State University in San Angelo, Texas. He was in the United States Navy and was deployed to Operation Desert Storm. He received an honorable discharge and returned to Midland where he met and married Rosie Lujan. He worked for 7-Eleven, Inc., and Midland Airport Security.
Joe loved his family and found his greatest joy in spending time with them, creating memories filled with warmth, love, and laughter. His love of music, joke telling, and big boisterous and contagious laugh energized the room and will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
On April 16, 2025, Joe was called home to rest in God's loving arms. He is preceded in death by his father, Earnest Joe Clemons Sr., sister Gloria D. Clemons, and stepfather Benjamin C. Conley Jr.
